Symposium starts Wednesday

The University of Arizona Symposium on Racing opens Wednesday with a two-part panel examining medication and drug testing. Stewards will also meet for their annual round table in the afternoon.

Following is the Symposium schedule for Wednesday:

8 a.m.-11:30 a.m.: "The Reality of Perception" - drug-testing, medication use, and drug regulation.

11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: "The Business of Having Fun"- Mike Veeck presents strategies to attract people to racetracks.

1 p.m.-4:30 p.m.: "Web Journalism" - Turf Publicists of America workshop.

1 p.m.-4:30 p.m.: "Spotlight on Regulation."
