Super Humor posts upset over K P Wildcat in Chaves County

Super Humor became a stakes winner Monday when she upset 3-5 favorite K P Wildcat in the $50,000 Chaves County at Zia Park in Hobbs, N.M. Super Humor won by two lengths over that one, at 17-1, while it was another 2 3/4 lengths back to Kell Paso in third.
The Chaves County, a one-mile race for fillies and mares, was the first Thoroughbred stakes of the mixed meet at Zia.
Super Humor ($36.20) was always prominent, tracking leader Baydar through fractions of 23.43 seconds for the opening quarter, 46.99 for the half-mile, and 1:12.39 for six furlongs. Super Humor moved to the lead from there, and went on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:37.93.
Elvin Gonzalez rode the winner for trainer Miguel Hernandez.
Super Humor is a daughter of Super Saver and the mare Heavenly Humor, who won five stakes races and earned $260,595. Super Humor on Monday earned $30,000 for owner Judge Lanier Racing. She is now 4 for 26 with career earnings of $130,385.
