Sunland: Quiet Again best by a head in Winsham Lad

Quiet Again edged 4-5 favorite Red Lead by a head to win the $50,000 Winsham Lad at Sunland Park on Sunday. It was another three-quarters of a length back in third to Vamoose.
The Winsham Lad was the first race in Sunland’s series for older horses that continues with the $50,000 Curribot in February and the $100,000 Sunland Park Handicap in April.
Quiet Again ($12.60) was prominent Sunday through fractions of 24.29 seconds for the opening quarter and 47.81 for the half-mile, before winning the one-mile and 70-yard race in 1:40.88. Duane Sterling rode Quiet Again for his breeder, Paul Thomason, and trainer Jimmie Claridge.
The Winsham Lad was the ninth career stakes win for Quiet Again, who has now won 16 of 44 career starts and $572,018.
