Sunland Park: Jaycito gets back to winner's circle in Curribot Handicap

Jaycito won for the first time since December 2012 on Sunday, powering home by 2 1/2 lengths over Dry Summer in the $50,080 Curribot Handicap at Sunland Park. It was another three-quarters of a length back to Smack Ridge in third.
The Curribot serves as a stepping-stone to the $75,000 Sunland Park Handicap in April.
Jaycito ($8.60) was always prominent to cover the 1 1/16 miles in 1:42.93. Ry Eikleberry was aboard for trainer Justin Evans.
Jaycito, 6, was a Grade 1 winner at 2. His most recent win heading into the Curribot was an allowance at Hollywood Park on Dec. 1, 2012. He was purchased at auction last year by current owner Tony Pennington. Jaycito has won 4 of 22 starts and $427,934.
