* Highweight and favorite That Tat overcome a sudden rainstorm, a power outage, and a stiff bid from a lighter-weighted stablemate to win the Folklore Handicap at Louisiana Downs. That Tat prevailed by three-quarters of a length over Electrode in the 6 1/2-furlong dash.

* Snow Big Deal ($53) led throughout to set a track record at Ruidoso Downs with an upset win in the $699,017 All American Derby for Quarter Horses. He ran the 440 yards in 20.946 seconds and beat 22-1 shot Talk About Me Oh My by a half-length.
