Sunday longshots ensure $500,310 pick six carryover into Wednesday at Belmont
ELMONT, N.Y. – There will be a pick six carryover of $500,310 into Wednesday’s card at Belmont Park after the wager went unhit for three straight programs.
There was a $128,746 carryover heading into Sunday’s program when bettors poured an additional $651,894 into the pool. Wins by double-digit priced horses Kid Is Frosty ($14.80), Listentoyourheart ($34) and Rinaldi ($23.20) meant there were just two live tickets heading into the final leg of the sequence.
The even-money favorite Mike’s Girl, to whom both tickets were live, was on the lead turning for home, but was passed by Cat Lady Steph. Mike’s Girl attempted to fight back, but Cat Lady Steph, a 28-1 shot, got her nose on the wire first, returning $58.
There are only eight races Wednesday at Belmont so the pick six will begin on race 3 (2:40 p.m. Eastern). Five of the six races are scheduled for the turf including the last leg, a New York-bred maiden $40,000 claiming race with a full field of 12.
The only dirt race is a maiden event for 2-year-olds with a field of six.
