Summer Revolution between King's Bishop and Travers

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Summer Revolution received a 104 Beyer Speed Figure for his three-length allowance victory on Saturday and could make his next start in the Grade 1 Travers on Aug. 27, trainer Rudy Rodriguez said on Monday.
Summer Revolution, a son of Summer Bird, remained perfect in two starts with his easy win here Saturday. His final time of 1:21.03 for seven furlongs was more than a full second faster than the winning time for the Grade 1 Test later on the card. Summer Revolution won his debut five weeks earlier at Belmont Park by 7 1/4 lengths.
“The way he was training, the way he was coming into the race, I expected him to run the way he did, although you still have to go out and do it,” said Rodriguez, who trains Summer Revolution for Jeff Drown. “I’m thankful to the owner. He let me wait, give him a little more time, and run him in the race Saturday instead of pointing right for the Travers. I said, ‘Let’s give him one more chance at seven furlongs,’ and thank God he performed the way I wanted him to. Now, I’ll leave it up to the owner to decide where to run next.”
Rodriguez said he believes it’s “50-50” between the 1 1/4-mile Travers and the seven-furlong King’s Bishop, also Aug. 27, for Summer Revolution’s next start.
