Successful Native has running shoes on for Treasure Coast

Last month, Successful Native was favored to win his third straight race in the $75,000 Bonita at Gulfstream Park, but he ended up third. Successful Native can make amends Saturday at Gulfstream in the $75,000 Treasure Coast, a five-furlong turf sprint.
Successful Native was found to have lost a front shoe during the Bonita, said trainer Aubrey Maragh.
“He’s supposed to run a lot better,” Maragh said.
Successful Native has developed into one of the better turf sprinters of the Gulfstream summer meet. He is 3 for 7 over the local course and in June and July won an optional $25,000 claiming race and then the $75,000 Turf Sprint.
Successful Native is among 10 3-year-olds and up entered for the Treasure Coast, with Dreaming of Neno entered for the main track. Singanothersong was put up in the Bonita following the disqualification of Do the Roar, and both return on Saturday.
