Subsanador, a Grade 1 winner in 2024 who was fourth in the Grade 3 San Carlos Stakes at Santa Anita on March 29 in his first start in 18 months, is tentatively scheduled to start in the $200,000 Lake Ouachita Stakes at Oaklawn Park on May 2. Subsanador worked six furlongs in 1:12.80 at Santa Anita on Thursday. The next stakes for older horses on dirt at the current Santa Anita spring meeting is the Grade 2 Hollywood Gold Cup, a $200,000 race at 1 1/4 miles on May 25. Subsanador, a 7-year-old Argentine-bred horse owned by Wathnan Racing, was beaten eight lengths by Cornucopian in the seven-furlong San Carlos. The San Carlos was Subsanador’s first start since a win in the Grade 1 California Crown Stakes at Santa Anita in September 2024. Subsanador was diagnosed with an injury in the weeks after the $1 million California Crown Stakes that resulted in a lengthy rest.
