OCEANPORT, N.J. - Just Jenda overcame a stumble at the start to post an 8 1/4-length victory Sunday in the $70,000 Serena's Song Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Monmouth Park. The Serena's Song is the prep for the Grade 3, $200,000 Monmouth Oaks on Aug. 15. Just Jenda ($3), ridden by Eddie Castro, quickly got back into the game after the early mishap and took charge turning for home to get her fifth win in nine starts. The time was 1:41.52 for the mile and 70 yards on the fast track. "She turned out to be a real nice filly when we stretched her out," said Larry Jones, who trains the filly for his wife, Cindy. "We'll be back with her for the Monmouth Oaks. We won it last year with Maren's Meadow and we want to defend our title." Oro Blanco was second, followed by Bandora, Sapphire Sky, River Blades, and Key Lime Baby. * In the supporting feature, Libor Lady ($4.60) also had an early issue, bobbling at the break before dictating the pace to win the $60,000 Klassy Briefcase Stakes for filly and mare turf sprinters. Daniel Centeno was aboard for trainer Michael Pino as Libor Lady was timed in 1:01.34 for about 5 1/2 furlongs on the firm course.
