Stuck in Traffic hangs on

Stuck in Traffic set sizzling fractions before holding off Not Bourbon in the $150,400 Achievement Stakes at Woodbine.

Struck in Traffic's time of 1:08.62 was just .06 of a second off the six-furlong Polytrack record, which was set last year by Financingavailable. He returned $3.60 as the favorite, and earned $90,000 in the race for Ontario-breds.

Stuck in Traffic darted out to a clear lead under David Clark, and set fractions of 21.92 and 44.03 seconds. Not Bourbon chased in second throughout, and seemed poised to go by in the stretch, but Struck in Traffic held his ground and prevailed by three-quarters of a length. Sun Hawk was a distant third in the six-horse field.

"I just let him fall out of there," said Clark. "After a few jumps, he said 'Let's go,' and we went. You don't think you're going that fast. He fought back hard and found another gear after [Not Bourbon] came to him."
