Structor, a son of Palace Malice, won all three of his starts at 2, beginning with a maiden race at Saratoga and then the Grade 3 Pilgrim at Belmont Park. He rallied from 11th place to win the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf by three-quarters of a length.
Structor, owned by Jeff Drown and Don Rachel, was going to get a shot on dirt this year, but underwent throat surgery.
◗ No Parole, the Grade 1 Woody Stephens winner, had his first local workout here Thursday, breezing a half-mile in 50.50 seconds over the main track. He is pointing to the Grade 1 Allen Jerkens here Aug. 1.
“Everything is good,” trainer Tom Amoss said. “I’m very happy with him.”
