The Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers Club in Lexington. Ky., has named Callan Strouss its 2010 Farm Manager of the Year.Strouss manages the Oak Tree division of Lane’s End Farm in Fayette County, where Lane’s End maintains an American broodmare band for the Niarchos family. Strouss also owns a 60-acre farm, Caldara, with his wife, Darcia Fantucchio.A polo player, Strouss entered the Thoroughbred breeding business in 1978 when he joined the staff at Smiser West’s Waterford Farm. He has worked at Lane’s End since 1981. He will be honored at the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managars Club’s annual dinner on Oct. 8 at the Red Mile raceway in Lexington.
