Strollin the Bayou no cinch in allowance

Strollin the Bayou flew home from last to win the Purple Violet Stakes for Illinois-breds on June 16. If she can transfer that Polytrack form to turf she’ll win the sixth race Friday at Arlington – but that’s a big if.
Strollin the Bayou’s two best races have come on Arlington’s synthetic surface. Perhaps she’s just a different horse racing in blinkers, which trainer Chris Block added for the Purple Violet, but there’s a better chance she excels on Arlington’s main track.
Hayworth finished third in the Purple Violet, a one-turn mile, but has two-turn turf form from Louisiana and Kentucky earlier this year that makes her the most likely winner of race 6, a 1 1/16-mile optional claimer for 3-year-old fillies.
◗ Arlington-based journeyman jockey Chris Emigh was off his mounts Saturday and Sunday after falling during training Friday morning and racing Friday afternoon, but was set to resume riding on Thursday’s card.
