Gulfstream Park
Storybook first chapter for trainer Hemingway

Jim McCue/Maryland Jockey Club Manor House, here winning a maiden race at Laurel in December for trainer Michael Stidham, gave Michelle Hemingway her first victory with her first starter. Manor House won an allowance race at Gulfstream Saturday.
HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Michelle Hemingway made an auspicious training debut Saturday, bringing the promising 3-year-old Manor House back from a nine-month layoff to win a one-mile allowance. Manor House, making only his third start, ran down odds-on favorite Financial System in the final strides.
Manor House was prepared for the race at Thorostock, a 40-acre facility in Ocala, Fla., where Hemingway works as part of the organization’s bloodstock, rehab, and training services for bloodstock agent Nick Salusto and Jimmy Randolph, who is the director of training operations at the farm.
