Stormy Liberal pointing for Jaipur

Stormy Liberal, the winner of the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Del Mar last November and second in the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint in Dubai in March, will resume racing in the Grade 2 Jaipur Invitational at Belmont Park on June 9.
Brian Trump, racing manager for co-owner Rockingham Ranch, made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday. The $400,000 Jaipur Invitational is run at six furlongs on turf and is part of the undercard of the Belmont Stakes program.
Trained by Peter Miller and co-owned by David Bernsen, Stormy Liberal has run twice this year, having started his season with a second to stablemate Conquest Tsunami in the Grade 3 Daytona Stakes on the hillside turf course at Santa Anita in February.
Stormy Liberal has been nominated for the Group 1 July Cup at six furlongs on a straightaway turf course at Newmarket, England, on July 14. Trump said Stormy Liberal’s participation in the $677,500 July Cup hinges on how well he runs in the Jaipur.
Stormy Liberal worked a half-mile in 50.20 seconds at the San Luis Rey Downs training center on Wednesday.
Bobby Abu Dhabi, the winner of the Grade 2 Kona Gold Stakes at Santa Anita, worked a half-mile in 49.20 seconds at San Luis Rey Downs on Wednesday in advance of a potential start in the Grade 2 True North Stakes at 6 1/2 furlongs at Belmont Park on June 8.
Trained by Miller for Rockingham Ranch and Bernsen, Bobby Abu Dhabi won his first stakes in the 6 1/2-furlong Kona Gold.
