Stormthebarricade rides bias to win

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Favored Stormthebarricade rode a speed bias to an easy five and a half-length score in Sunday's $133,375 Bull Page Stakes, a six-furlong dash for 2-year-olds at Woodbine.

Stormthebarricade clipped heels and went down in his previous start June 14, in the Victoria Stakes, but there were no mishaps Sunday, as he set quick fractions and then drew off in the stretch under Emile Ramsammy.

"He was very impressive when he won first time out," said Ramsammy. "Unfortunately, he took a bad tumble in his second race, and now he was able to show the kind of horse that he is."

Kent Ridge ended up second, while Imperial Alydeed finished third in the seven-horse field of Ontario-sired runners. The final time was 1:11.77.

Stormthebarricade ($3.60) earned $80,025 for owner/trainer Laurie Silvera and partner.
