Storm’s Eye, Europe to stand at Bare Foot Farms in Indiana

DRF Breeding Staff|Dec 19, 2013

Bare Foot Farms in Bennington, Ind., has acquired stallions Storm’s Eye and Europe from Vikata Vista Stud Farm, also in Bennington, to stand the 2014 breeding season, BloodHorse reports.

Storm’s Eye, a half brother to champion and successful sire Leroidesanimaux, as well as Brazilian Group 1 winner Uapybo and Group 3 winner Disport, will stand for an advertised fee of $1,000. The 7-year-old Storm Cat horse’s first foals are 3-year-olds of 2013.

Bred in Kentucky by Indian Creek, Alessandro Arcangeli, and Overbrook Farm, Storm’s Eye is out of the unraced Ahonoora mare Dissemble, who is the dam of six winners from eight foals to race.

He is from the family of Group 1 winners So Factual and 2006 English Broodmare of the Year Hasili, who is the base of a family tree that includes Canadian Horse of the Year Champs Elysses, U.S. and European champion Banks Hill, U.S. champion Intercontinental, Grade/Group 1 winners Romantica, Cacique, and Heat Haze, as well as Grade 2 winner and leading sire Dansili. Arrive, England’s Broodmare of the Year of 2008 is also a notable family member.

Europe is a full brother to Grade 2 winner and sire Half Ours, and will also stand for $1,000. The 7-year-old son of Unbridled’s Song was represented by his first crop of racing age in 2013.

A $2.6-million purchase at the 2007 Keeneland September yearling sale, Europe was bred in Kentucky by Aaron and Marie Jones, and he is out of the winning Storm Cat mare Zing, whose two winners from four foals to race also includes Ohio stallion Alcindor. His family includes Grade 1 winners Key Phrase and Shared Belief, as well as Grade 3 winner Little Miss Holly.
