SHAKOPEE, Minn. – Stormation seized command early and continued his dominance of the locally based juveniles with a 2 1/2-length win Saturday in the $75,000 Shakopee Juvenile. Handled confidently by Jorge Carreno for trainer Robertino Diodoro, Stormation ($3.20) ran his record to 5 for 5 by defeating second-place finisher Partay and seven other 2-year-olds. Owned by his breeders, Mercedes Stables LLC, Stormation, a Stormy Atlantic colt, was not fully extended while covering six furlongs over a fast track in 1:12.50. Stormation collected $45,000 for his connections. In the previous race, Candy Ruby ($13.80), racing for the same connections as Stormation, garnered his first stakes victory in the $40,000 HBPA Stakes, winning by 5 1/4 lengths.
