Stonewall Star possible for Interborough Stakes

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Stonewall Star, the 2 1/2-length winner of the $100,000 Bay Ridge Stakes for New York-bred females on Dec. 27, could make her next start in the $150,000 Interborough Stakes on Jan. 18, trainer Horacio De Paz said Friday.
“We’ll see how that race comes up, target that, and if not then possibly go to the Barbara Fritchie,” said De Paz, referring to the $200,000, seven-furlong race for fillies and mares held at Laurel Park on Feb. 15. “Seven-eighths is a little bit shorter than what she wants to go, but she’s doing very, very well and hopefully she can run in either/or. Hopefully we get another speedfavoring track.”
Stonewall Star’s Bay Ridge win was aided by a strong inside-speed bias on the Aqueduct main track.
