Stevens joining TVG as analyst

Jockey Gary Stevens, who was to announce his retirement from riding on Friday, will join TVG as a race analyst, according to a TVG press release.

Stevens will begin working for TVG, the horse racing network and account-wagering company, in January.

"I'm not retiring from racing, just from riding," Stevens said in the release.

Stevens's role could expand beyond race analyst, said Tony Allevato, TVG's senior vice president and executive producer.

Stevens is scheduled to make his final ride aboard Louve Royale in the last race at Churchill Downs on Saturday.
