Stevens gets mount on Sarah Sis for Kentucky Oaks

Trainer Ingrid Mason has lined up Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens to ride Sarah Sis in the Kentucky Oaks, agent Craig O’Bryan confirmed this week. Sarah Sis most recently finished fifth in the April 4 Fantasy at Oaklawn Park.
An oversubscribed field of 3-year-old fillies is holding together so far for the Oaks, led by Condo Commando, I’m a Chatterbox, Stellar Wind, Birdatthewire, and Lovely Maria. The points-eligibility system used to limit the field to 14 starters has not been needed for the Oaks since its 2013 inception.
Eh Cumpari will run in New York
Eh Cumpari, the Palm Beach Stakes winner originally entered in the postponed Transylvania Stakes on opening day, was one of a handful who were not entered back for the rescheduled running here Wednesday.
Trainer Mike Dilger opted instead to wait for the Woodhaven on Saturday at Aqueduct with Eh Cumpari, reasoning that New York “is our home base, and it was the same purse and distance.” Both are $100,000 races at 1 1/16 miles on turf.
