OZONE PARK, N.Y. - The two-time New York-bred stakes winning filly Sterling Silver will make her ninth attempt at winning an open-company stakes when she runs in Saturday’s Grade 2, $250,000 Gallant Bloom at Aqueduct, which will go as race 5 on an 11-race card. Sterling Silver finished third in last year’s Gallant Bloom, which followed a narrow neck defeat in the Grade 2 Prioress Stakes at Saratoga. Two starts back, Sterling Silver won an open-company second-level allowance before finishing sixth of seven in the Grade 1 Ballerina. Caramel Swirl is the likely Gallant Boom favorite. She is coming off a fourth-place finish in the Ballerina, but is a two-time graded stakes winner. Others entered in the Gallant Bloom at 6 1/2 furlongs is Undervalued Asset, Beguine, Remain Anonymous, and Headland. :: Get Belmont at the Big A Clocker Reports from Mike Welsch and the Clocker Team.
