Worldventurer
Reed Palmer Photography Worldventurer, a three-time stakes winner, is being pointed toward a division of the $75,000 Texas Stallion Stakes for 3-year-olds at a mile at Lone Star on May 11.

More Than Even was named the Oklahoma-bred horse of the year during a Friday awards banquet put on by the Thoroughbred Racing Association of Oklahoma. The event was held at the Hard Rock Hotel near Tulsa.

More Than Even was also honored as the 3-year-old filly of 2013 for a season in which she swept both of her division’s offerings at Remington Park, the Te Ata Stakes and the Useeit Stakes. Overall, she won five of 12 starts last year, for earnings of $157,928. More Than Even, a daughter of Stephen Got Even and the Dehere mare Sallybrooke, races for her breeder, Doyle Williams.

More Than Even has carried her sharp form into 2014, having won back-to-back stakes this spring at Will Rogers Downs.

Other horses recognized by TRAO were Xray Vision, 2-year-old filly; Alpha and Omega, 2-year-old; My Brother Don, 3-year-old; Sooner Superstar, older filly or mare; Imahit; older male; Eye Love Jeanie, female sprinter; Okie Ride, male sprinter; Fast Resource, female turf horse; and Dusty Okie, male turf horse.

The organization also honored Richter Family Trust as the leading owner and breeder. TRAO named Sallybrooke, the dam of More Than Even, broodmare of the year, and Evansville Slew stallion of the year.

The Texas Thoroughbred Association will honor its 2013 champions at an awards banquet at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie on June 14. Worldventurer is the Texas-bred horse of the year for 2013.

Worldventurer, who will also be feted as champion 3-year-old, captured last year’s Emerald Downs Derby. He is a son of Wimbledon and the Elusive Quality mare Better Than Most and he was bred by the late Clarence Scharbauer, Jr. Better Than Most is the TTA’s broodmare of the year for 2013.

Other divisional winners are recent Fiftyshadesofgold, 2-year-old filly; Time Iz Flyin, 2-year-old; Tastefullyxcesssive, 3-year-old filly; Lasting Bubbles, older filly or mare; and Ol Winedrinker Who, older male.
