Stars of Tomorrow auction at Evangeline Downs on Monday

Evangeline Downs will be the site of a 2-year-olds in-training sale on Monday. The Stars of Tomorrow auction is administered by Stemman, Inc., and features a catalog of 93 young prospects. The sale will begin at 10 a.m. Central at the track’s event center in Opelousas, La.

There are a wide range of stallions represented by offspring in the auction. They include Artie Schiller, Behindatthebar, Drosselmeyer, Half Ours, Henrythenavigator, Ide, Paddy O’ Prado, Salute the Sarge, Yankee Gentleman, and Zarbyev.

The graduates of the sale will become eligible for the $75,000 Evangeline Downs Star for colts and geldings or the $75,000 Evangeline Downs Starlet for fillies. The six-furlong stakes for 2-year-olds will be run at Evangeline Downs on Aug. 29.
