The stage has been set for Saturday's $150,000 Evangeline Mile Handicap. Entries were drawn for the meeting's richest event on Wednesday morning, and this year's edition of the Mile will have a field of eight.\nStar Guitar will be the starting highweight in the Mile at 119 pounds. The Al Stall Jr. trainee comes off a pair of impressive stakes wins against fellow Louisiana-breds. In his most recent start, Star Guitar won the Aug. 1 Louisiana Cup Turf Classic at Louisiana Downs by more than eight lengths. The race was rained off the turf onto a sloppy main track, and the talented son of Quiet American relished the off going en route to posting a career-best 105 Beyer Speed Figure. He also accounted for the Pola Benoit Memorial over the Evangeline main track on Legends Night, July 4. Veteran Curt Bourque will once again handle the riding chores.\nIde Like a Double will carry 118 pounds in the Mile, with regular rider Kerwin Clark aboard. The 4-year-old son of Ide also comes in off a victory in the seven-furlong Oak Hall here on July 18. He is the defending champ in this race and last year posted his own triple-digit Beyer of 102.\nOthers in this year's cast include regional stakes regulars Dreamsandvisions, Beta Capo, King Dan, and State Power.
