Stan the Man among Terranova's upcoming stakes runners

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Stan the Man, winner of the Tale of the Cat Stakes at Saratoga and most recently third in the Grade 2 Kelso Handicap, will make his next start in the Grade 3, $100,000 Fall Highweight Handicap on Nov. 29, trainer John Terranova said.
Though Terranova has tried Stan the Man at several different distances, Stan the Man has proven to be best sprinting. The Tale of the Cat was at six furlongs. He finished second to Firenze Fire in the Grade 2 True North at 6 1/2 furlongs.

Terranova also is eyeing a pair of stakes for his 2-year-old maiden turf winners Breadman and Original. Breadman, who won at first asking on turf before running third on dirt in the Sleepy Hollow Stakes, will most likely make his next start in the $100,000 Central Park Stakes going 1 1/16 miles on turf here next Saturday.
Original, a son of Quality Road who won his turf debut by two lengths Nov. 14, could ship to Del Mar for the Grade 3, $100,000 Cecil B. DeMille Stakes on Nov. 29.
Original finished last on dirt in his debut but turned it around when switched to turf, winning by two lengths and earning a 73 Beyer Speed Figure.
“We thought he was a nice horse and were scratching our heads after that debut,” Terranova said. “I [galloped] him on the turf in the infield and then it was like, ‘okay.’ ”
