Stall wins two races at Louisiana Downs to stay white hot in that state

Trainer Al Stall Jr. now has won with 13 of his last 14 starters in Louisiana after both of his entrants on the Saturday card at Louisiana Downs in Bossier City won their races. The streak includes wins at Evangeline Downs in Opelousas.
Stall’s next starter in the state will come on Monday with Belle Force in the fourth race at Louisiana Downs. She is 2-1 on the morning line for the maiden special weight at a mile on turf. The race is for fillies and mares bred in Louisiana.
Stall on Saturday won the fourth and sixth races at Louisiana Downs. Iona Guitar ($2.60) won her debut in the fourth, a maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies bred in Louisiana, covering 4 1/2 furlongs in a sharp 52.45 seconds. Half a Sugar was a neck winner of the sixth, a conditioned claiming sprint for fillies and mares. She paid ($3.80).
The streak started with Half a Sugar on June 20. The lone loss since then came when Amity ran third in a June 25 race at Louisiana Downs. Stall has won four consecutive races at Evangeline during the streak, including a pair of stakes for 3-year-olds bred in Louisiana.
The trainer overall has won with his last six starters at Evangeline dating to June 8.
Stall has a division of horses based at Louisiana Downs. He also will have a division this summer at Saratoga. Stall is a native of New Orleans.
