Stall hoping My Miss Chiff spells trouble in Correction Stakes

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Trainer Al Stall Jr. will have a rare starter at Aqueduct when he runs My Miss Chiff in Saturday’s $100,000 Correction Stakes for older female sprinters going six furlongs.
My Miss Chiff, a Louisiana-bred daughter of Into Mischief, will be just Stall’s second career starter at Aqueduct. In 2014, he ran Central Banker, who finished sixth, in the Grade 1 Carter.
“We’re looking for quality black type,” Stall said Wednesday from New Orleans before catching a flight to Oaklawn Park. “We picked up a little black type at Pimlico, but we’re looking for more and hopefully a win.”
My Miss Chiff finished third in last year’s Grade 3 Miss Preakness at Pimlico. After being off through the summer and early fall, My Miss Chiff returned to win a pair of Louisiana-bred stakes to complete her 3-year-old season. In her 4-year-old debut, My Miss Chief finished second after leading early in a Louisiana-bred stakes in the slop at Delta Downs.
“I didn’t want her on the lead,” said Stall, whose filly went a quarter in 21.85 seconds and a half-mile in 45.40 before getting run down by Ours to Run. “She was pushed the whole way and didn’t switch leads.”
My Miss Chiff had come from off the pace in her prior two victories.
Dylan Davis will ride My Miss Chiff, owned by Town and Country Racing.
A field of 10 was entered for the Correction, including the streaking New York-breds Startwithsilver and Quezon, who have combined to win their last five starts, Bluegrass Flag, Nisha, Spice Lady, Sounds Delicious, Anydayismyday, Summer Reading, and the supplemental nominee Rowd E Allie.
