Spirit Animal tops deep turf allowance
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A terrific feature is in store for Friday the 13th at Churchill, with an oversubscribed field of older horses competing for $92,000 under a third-level allowance condition.
Spirit Animal, winner in three of his last four starts, likely will come favored in the 1 1/16-mile turf race for Chad Brown. The Lemon Drop Kid colt will have Tyler Gaffalione aboard when he breaks from post 3. Set Piece, Temple, Midnight Tea Time, and Louder Than Bombs are among his more capable opponents in the ninth of 10 races.
All turf racing Wednesday was transferred to the main track following overnight rain, but dry conditions were in the forecast for Thursday and Friday.
First post is 1 p.m. Eastern.
