Five-time reigning leading sire Into Mischief, in pursuit of his sixth title, figures to reign as one of the most expensive sires in North America again for 2025. Spendthrift Farm announced its roster and most of its fees, and has set its flagship sire’s fee at $250,000. Into Mischief, perennially prominent sire Curlin at Hill ‘n’ Dale Farm, and young phenom Gun Runner at Three Chimneys Farm were all initially listed at $250,000 to lead North American fees in 2024; Gun Runner’s fee was later moved to private. Curlin will stand for $225,000 in 2025, while Gun Runner’s fee has not yet been announced. Into Mischief currently leads the North American general sire list by a margin of more than $13 million over Gun Runner, and his progeny earnings stand at $29,778,916 through Oct. 15. That has already shattered his own single-season earnings mark of $28,574,633 from 2022. “Into Mischief continues to push into uncharted territory in the long and rich history of stallions in this industry,” Spendthrift general manager Ned Toffey said in a release. “He’s truly a once-in-a-generation sire.” :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
