Spendthrift Farm releases 2016 fees for Kentucky roster

Spendthrift Farm has released its 2016 advertised fees for the 25 horses that comprise the operation’s Kentucky roster.

Malibu Moon, sire of 2013 Kentucky Derby winner Orb, will once again serve as Spendthrift’s cornerstone stallion, with his fee remaining unchanged from its 2015 level at $95,000.

Into Mischief will stand for $45,000 after being advertised at $30,000 in 2015, while Temple City’s rate will increase from $12,500 to $15,000.

A pair of stallions making their debuts at the Kentucky base after beginning their stallion careers in Canada will also see increased fees for the upcoming breeding season. Court Vision will stand for $6,500 after previously standing for approximately $5,761 ($7,500 Canadian), while Victor’s Cry will be priced at $3,500 after standing for $2,689 ($3,500 Canadian) last year.
Stallions advertised for lower “stands and nurses” fees in 2016 include Warrior’s Reward ($10,000 from $20,000), Cross Traffic ($10,000 from $12,500), Tizway ($8,500 from $10,000), Flat Out ($8,500 from $10,000), Jimmy Creed ($7,500 from $12,000), Liaison ($6,500 from $10,000), Archarcharch ($5,000 from $9,000), Itsmyluckyday ($6,500 from $8,000), Paddy O’Prado ($5,000 from $9,500), Wilburn ($3,500 from $6,500), Can the Man ($3,500 from $5,000), and Dominus ($3,500 from $4,500).

Spendthrift Farm currently features four stallions that will make their debut at stud in 2016. Danza, by Street Boss, will stand for $4,000; Medal Count, by Dynaformer, will stand for $5,000; Palace, by City Zip, will stand for $6,000; and Race Day, by Tapit, will stand for $7,000.

All other returning stallions’ fees will remain unchanged from their 2015 levels.
