Speedy Go Gone Gone tops allowance field

Go Gone Gone could be gone if he breaks alertly from his inside post in the first-level allowance race for Florida-breds that headlines Friday’s nine-race card at Gulfstream.

The five-furlong dash also carries a $16,000 claiming option and drew 10 for turf. Trev and Starship Apollo will start only if the race is moved to the main track.

Go Gone Gone won four races in a row before he finished fifth in a similar race for trainer Efren Loza on April 29. He was never headed in his winning streak, but in his last start he was the outside horse in a three-horse duel before fading to fifth.

The 4-year-old gelding was claimed out of the race by trainer Rodolfo Garcia and, being the speed of the speed, he could be tough to reel-in with a sharp beginning. Carlos Olivero picks up the mount from Edgard Zayas, who will be aboard Domenic.

Asked and Answered just missed to Dominic in a $25,000 conditioned claimer April 26. With Tyler Gaffalione riding for trainer Ralph Nicks, Asked and Answered was in a stalking position and inherited the lead when the two leaders drifted out on the turn. He held a one-length advantage over Dominec at the eighth pole, but came up a neck short.
