Speechify, Singanothersong back for another try in Mr. Prospector

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Speechify and Singanothersong won the last two editions of the Grade 3 Mr. Prospector, and they were among 18 horses nominated to the six-furlong dash here Saturday on a card that also includes the $75,000 Tropical Park Derby and $75,000 Tropical Park Oaks.

Speechify was involved in a spill at Keeneland in the Grade 3 Woodford earlier this fall, and then finished fifth over a sloppy track under allowance conditions Nov. 22 at Gulfstream Park West. Speechify defeated Risk Factor and this year’s Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint winner Mongolian Saturday to capture the 2014 Mr. Prospector.

Singanothersong has gone winless in nine starts since his 1 3/4-length victory over Fort Loudon in the 2013 Mr. Prospector.

The nomination list for the Mr. Prospector is led by the David Jacobson duo of Salutos Amigos and Stallwalkin’ Dude, along with Weekend Hideaway, Grande Shores, and Risk Factor.
