Solomon will try to turn the tables on Grand Full Moon in Lost in the Fog Stakes

PHOENIX – There figures to be some order established to the local 2-year-old scene at Turf Paradise Saturday when the track conducts the $35,000 Lost in the Fog Stakes for juveniles at 6 1/2 furlongs and the $35,000 Arizona Juvenile Fillies Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at the same distance. The Lost in the Fog drew a field of eight, headed by Grand Full Moon, while the Arizona Juvenile Fillies pits 12, led by invaders Perfect Style and Freakin Amazing.
Grand Full Moon, owned by Mercedes Stables and trained by Robertino Diodoro, finished in a dead heat for a stakes win at Canterbury Downs on Sept. 13. That earned him a trip to Santa Anita Park for a stakes on Oct. 13, but he found those waters too tough, finishing fifth after a slow start. He came here and gamely prevailed by a head over Lost in the Fog rival Solomon as the 2-5 favorite. Geovanni Franco rides again.
Solomon, owned by River Ridge Ranch and trained by Valorie Lund, whipped maidens by 6 3/4 lengths here Oct. 18. He was then second in an allowance race Nov. 4 before dueling and finishing a game second, beaten just a head, by Grand Full Moon here Nov. 22. He finished 6 1/4 lengths clear of the others. Ry Bowen rides.
Perfect Style, owned by Round Up Racing and trained by Bart Hone, invades from New Mexico to lead the Arizona Juvenile Fillies. After running third in her debut at Zia Park (versus males) on Oct. 20, she romped over maiden fillies by 11 1/4 lengths there Nov. 10 and then whipped allowance fillies by 9 3/4 lengths there Nov. 22.
