Society’s Chairman represented by first foal in Ontario

Grade 3 winner Society’s Chairman was represented by his first foal on Feb. 2, a filly born at Shannondoe Farm in St. Thomas, Ont.

The farm reported that the foal is a “gorgeous filly, good bone and balance; three white socks and a big white face.”

The filly, bred by David Clancy, is out of the winning Vindication mare Southern Oaks, a daughter of Canadian champion filly Brusque.

Society’s Chairman, a 10-year-old Not Impossible horse, raced for four seasons and compiled a career record of seven wins, seven seconds, and seven thirds from 30 starts, earning $772,775. He won three stakes races, highlighted by the Grade 3 Appleton Stakes at Gulfstream Park, and placed in 13 other stakes, including three Grade 1 events, for Hall of Fame trainer Roger Attfield.

Ontario-bred Society’s Chairman is out of the winning Olympio mare Athena’s Smile, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Hodges Bay.

Society's Chairman is standing the 2013 season at Shannondoe for a fee of $3,500 in Canadian funds.
