Society's Chairman colt brings $200,000 at Canadian premier yearling sale
ETOBICOKE, Ontario - A Society’s Chairman colt sold for $200,000 at the Canadian premier yearling sale at the Woodbine Sales Pavilion on Thursday.
The colt is from the family of Canadian champion Caren. He was purchased by Mike DePaulo, as agent for a new partnership called New Generations Racing Stable, and sold by Shannondoe Farm, as agent.

A Tourist colt sold for $120,000 at the sale. He was bought by Liz Elder, as agent for Cudney Stables, from Hill ‘N’ Dale Sales Agency, agent.
Shannondoe Farm, agent, led all consignors in gross, selling 14 yearlings for $485,500.
The 157 horses that sold grossed $3,381,400, while 88 were listed as not sold.
The average of $21,538 was 16 percent higher than last year, when 152 yearlings brought $2,816,900 while averaging $18,532. Ninety were not sold last year.
The median was $13,000, which was 21 percent higher last year’s $10,750.
