John and Debby Oxley's multiple Grade 2 winner Snow Dance was euthanized on March 28 at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute after colic surgery.\nAn 11-year-old Forest Wildcat mare, Snow Dance was in foal to Street Cry when she died.\nSnow Dance won or placed in a dozen graded races in her four-season career. She won three Grade 2 races - the New York Handicap in 2003 and the Mrs. Revere Stakes and Lake Placid Handicap in 2001 - and two Grade 3's - the Pucker Up Stakes in 2001 and Suwannee River in 2002. She earned $938,597 from 8 wins in 25 starts, with seven of those victories - including all of her stakes wins - coming on the grass.\nSnow Dance has produced one winner, the Grand Slam filly From Scratch, now 4. Snow Dance also is the dam of the 2-year-old colt Monarch Pass, a son of the Oxleys' 2001 Kentucky Derby winner Monarchos who has not started. He is Snow Dance's last foal.\nAspiration Stable bred Snow Dance from the Spectacular Bid mare Northern Pageant. Foaled on March 28, 1998, Snow Dance sold to the Oxleys for $220,000 at the 1999 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select yearling sale.
