Snapy Gal turns table on Kela's Turn in Mamie Eisenhower

Snapy Gal dueled with 3-5 favorite Kela’s Turn and went on to a 2 1/2-length win Friday night in the $65,000 Mamie Eisenhower at Prairie Meadows.
It was another 2 1/4 lengths back in third to Blaze Away N Hide.
The Mamie Eisenhower was a six-furlong race for fillies and mares bred in Iowa.
Snapy Gal ($21) and Kela’s Turn dueled through an opening quarter in 22.27 seconds and a half-mile in 45.04. Snapy Gal shook her pace rival in the later stages, and covered the distance on a fast track in 1:09.08.
Ken Tohill was aboard for owner and trainer Travis Murphy.
Murphy’s wife, Cindy Murphy, was scheduled to ride Snapy Gal. However, she is recovering from pelvic and rib injuries sustained Sunday.
Snapy Gal has now won 6 of 24 starts for earnings of $320,507. She is a daughter of Snapy Halo. One start prior to the Mamie Eisenhower, Snapy Gal finished second to Kela's Turn in an allowance at Prairie.
