Snapper Sinclair headed to Dubai for Godolphin Mile

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Snapper Sinclair, who won an allowance this month at Oaklawn, is being pointed to the Group 2 Godolphin Mile at Meydan in Dubai, trainer Steve Asmussen said Monday.
The race will be run on the Dubai World Cup card March 27.
Snapper Sinclair won a Feb. 4 allowance at Oaklawn going a mile. He scored by a length and earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 91 in what was his first start since finishing second in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile on Dec. 5 at Aqueduct.
Asmussen said Joel Rosario would have the mount in the Godolphin Mile.
Coal Front came off a win at Oaklawn to capture the 2019 running of the Godolphin Mile.
Snapper Sinclair is a popular runner owned by Bloom Racing Stable. He has a uniquely marked face and has earned more than $1.5 million.
“Man, who doesn’t love Snapper,” Asmussen said.
Asmussen said Snapper Sinclair is now based at Fair Grounds.
◗ Champion Monomoy Girl will make her first start for a partnership headed by Spendthrift Farm when she breaks from post 6 in a field of six in the Grade 3, $250,000 Bayakoa on Sunday at Oaklawn. In the Bayakoa, she is scheduled to race in the silks of MyRacehorse.com, trainer Brad Cox said Monday.
◗ Boldor, winner of the King Cotton at Oaklawn with a meet-high Beyer Speed Figure of 100, is set to make his next start in the track’s $200,000 Hot Springs on March 13, Asmussen said.
