Fair Grounds
Small field for Sunday's allowance feature
NEW ORLEANS – The feature on a nine-race Sunday card at Fair Grounds is race 7, a second-level turf-sprint allowance restricted to fillies and mares and also open to $40,000 claimers. There are just seven in the main body of the field, with Cced entered for the main track only.
Euroboss, who comes off a first-level turf-sprint allowance win for trainer Mike Stidham, is the 5-2 morning-line favorite and would lack appeal at odds that low. Alternatives include a second Stidham-trained runner, Moon Medal, who cuts back in distance from route races and has been working bullets at the Evangeline Training Center, and Luvin Bullies, who rallied from eighth to finish second in a similar spot here Dec. 30.
