Slipstream, Bubble Rock give sire More Than Ready a juvenile stakes sweep at Belmont

The seemingly ageless sire More Than Ready swept the turf graded stakes races for juveniles at Belmont over the weekend, as his daughter Bubble Rock won the Grade 3 Matron Stakes on Saturday and Slipstream won the Grade 3 Futurity on Sunday.

More Than Ready’s two new stakes winners gave the 24-year-old stallion who is based at WinStar Farm 217 stakes winners. More Than Ready also has been an influential shuttle sire in Australia, with four of his 13 champions coming there. He is the sire of champions in the United States, Canada, Peru, Puerto Rico, South Africa, and Venezuela.
More Than Ready is the sire of six Breeders’ Cup winners heading into this year’s event. He was represented by Eclipse Award champion Roy H, two-time winner of the Breeders’ Cup Sprint; Eclipse champion Uni, winner of the Mile; Eclipse champion Rushing Fall, winner of the Juvenile Fillies Turf; Juvenile Fillies Turf winner More Than Real; Juvenile Turf winner Pluck; and Turf Sprint winner Regally Ready. He ranks 13th by progeny purse earnings at the Breeders’ Cup, fifth among living sires.
