Sixy Chamisa tops Shue Fly

Sixy Chamisa went 6 for 8 last year at 2 and will attempt to keep on rolling Saturday in the $338,638 Shue Fly at Sunland Park. The 400-yard race for 3-year-olds bred in New Mexico is a restricted Grade 1.

Sixy Chamisa was the easiest of trial winners for the Shue Fly, cruising home by 1 1/4 lengths in her qualifying race Dec. 18. She also is one of the field's most accomplished runners, having taken the Grade 2 New Mexico Breeders' Futurity at SunRay Park in May.

Nifty's Royal Flush set the fastest qualifying time for the Shue Fly, when he won his 400-yard trial by a nose in 19.42 seconds. Sixy Chamisa covered the same distance in 19.44.
