Six stakes scheduled for California fair meets

Six $75,000 stakes will be run during the summer California Authority of Racing Fairs meetings.

Added to the schedule this year is the She's a Tiger Stakes for fillies and mares at 1 1/16 miles on June 26 at the Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton. The race is named for the filly who romped in her career debut at the Pleasanton racetrack and was the 2013 2-year-old filly Eclipse Award winner.

Pleasanton will also host the six-furlong Oak Tree Sprint on July 3, the Everett Nevin at 5 ½ furlongs for 2-year-olds on July 10. The Governor's Stakes at six furlongs for fillies and mares is scheduled for July 24.

The Big Fresno Fair will offer two stakes, the six-furlong Harris Farms for California-bred 3-year-olds and up on Oct. 9 and the 1 1/8-mile Bulldog on Oct. 17.
