I'm a Chatterbox wins 2015 Fair Grounds Oaks
Alexander Barkoff/Hodges Photography I'm a Chatterbox wins the Fair Grounds Oaks by 2 1/2 lengths Saturday at Fair Grounds.

I'm a Chatterbox stamped herself as one of the clear favorites for the Kentucky Oaks over the weekend, winning the Grade 2 Fair Grounds Oaks by 2 1/2 lengths to complete a sweep of Louisiana's prep series for the filly classic.

The filly is from the first crop of Munnings, who posted three victories on the weekend to continue his 2015 season. According to DRF's SirePowered Results, 18 foals by Munnings have combined to win 22 races since Jan. 1, led by I'm a Chatterbox's three stakes triumphs.

I'm a Chatterbox posted a Beyer Speed Figure of 94 for her Fair Grounds Oaks win, matching the figure she earned in the Silverbulletday Stakes on Jan. 17 and besting her 91 while winning the Grade 3 Rachel Alexandra Stakes on Feb. 21. The filly, who runs as a homebred for Fletcher and Carolyn Gray, is out of the multiple stakes-placed Lost Soldier mare Chit Chatter.

I'm a Chatterbox was one of three winners on the weekend for Munnings, as Colerful Bride won a maiden special weight on Friday at Fair Grounds, and Mongolian Chrome captured a maiden-claiming race on Sunday at Gulfstream Park.

Munnings, a son of champion sprinter Speightstown, followed in his sire’s footsteps as a brilliant runner, capturing the Woody Stephens Stakes, Tom Fool Handicap, and Gulfstream Park Sprint Championship, all Grade 2 events. He also placed in six Grade 1 events, highlighted by a third behind champions Rachel Alexandra and Summer Bird in the Haskell Invitational.

Munnings entered stud in 2011, and is based at Coolmore’s Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky. He is the sire of 39 winners to date from his first crop, including four stakes winners.
