Sir Prancealot moves to Eclipse Thoroughbred Farm
Sir Prancealot, who ranks among the top 10 sires in California in progeny earnings, will stand the 2027 season at Eclipse Thoroughbred Farm in Buellton, Calif.
Sir Prancealot stood at Rancho San Miguel in recent years and was recently acquired privately by Nick Alexander, Alexander said earlier this month.
Sir Prancealot is currently at Alexander’s farm near Buellton and will be transferred to the farm in the new year. He will stand for $5,000, Alexander said.
Alexander said the syndicate that owns Sir Prancealot was recently approached by breeders in Turkey interested in the 16-year-old. Instead, Alexander reached a deal to purchase Sir Prancealot in September, he said.
Through Thursday, Sir Prancealot ranked sixth in the state in progeny earnings, with slightly more than $2.4 million, and is on pace to surpass his 2024 total of $2.61 million. In 2025, Sir Prancealot ranked seventh with progeny earnings of more than $2.4 million.
