Sippin earns sixth stakes win with Peppers Pride

Sippin won the sixth stakes race of her career Sunday when she darted to a three-length victory over Sunday Rose in the $85,000 Peppers Pride Handicap at Sunland Park.
It was another 2 1/4 lengths back to Pink Cadillac in third.
The Peppers Pride was a mile race for fillies and mares bred in New Mexico. It is named for the New Mexico-bred mare who went 19 for 19 in her career to earn more than $1 million. Peppers Pride made her final start at Sunland, winning a stakes at the track in December 2008.
Sippin ($6.80), who won the first seven races of her career, was content to stalk fractions of 24.57 seconds for the opening quarter, 49 seconds for the half-mile and 1:14.34 for six furlongs. She overtook the leaders and went on to cover the distance on a track rated slow in in 1:40.99.
Roimes Chirinos was aboard for trainer Todd Fincher.
Sippin is a daughter of Swissle Stick who races for her breeder, R.D. Hubbard. She earned $51,000 for her win to push her career bankroll to $408,957. Sippin won five stakes during her win streak earlier in her career, with victories at Ruidoso, Zia Park, and Sunland.
