ARCADIA, Calif. - A memorable six-win day for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer on Saturday included a debut victory from the promising 2-year-old Silver Assault. Hollendorfer had three consecutive wins at Santa Anita and three wins at the Oak Tree at Pleasanton meeting at the Alameda County Fair in northern California. It was Hollendorfer’s most prolific day since he won seven races at Golden Gate Fields and Portland Meadows on Nov. 17, 2010. Silver Assault will be part of Hollendorfer’s list of juvenile stakes prospects for the Del Mar summer meeting. Saturday, Silver Assault ($9.40) ran five furlongs in 57.31 seconds, leading throughout and winning by 1 1/4 lengths over Chasing Aces. Ridden by Martin Garcia, Silver Assault was in front by at least a half-length throughout. “He came out of the race well,” Hollendorfer said on Sunday. Hollendorfer said Silver Assault is unlikely to race until Del Mar. The first graded stakes for the division is the $200,000 Best Pal Stakes at 6 1/2 furlongs on Aug. 13. Silver Assault is unlikely to run in the $125,000 Santa Anita Juvenile at 5 1/2 furlongs July 9, Hollendorfer said. Silver Assault, by Maclean’s Music, is owned by Harvey Clarke and Paul Braverman. Silver Assault was purchased for $52,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
