Silent Witness looks lock at Sha Tin

Silent Witness should make it 10 victories without a defeat when he tackles nine rivals in the Group 1, $577,350 Centenary Sprint Cup at Sha Tin on Saturday.

The five-furlong turf dash is the second leg of the Hong Kong Jockey Club's Champion Sprint Series. Silent Witness won the first leg, the Bauhinia Sprint Trophy, by 2 3/4 lengths from Firebolt and Cape of Good Hope on Feb. 1. Those two oppose Silent Witness again with no better chance of reversing their fortunes.

With Silent Witness having drawn perfectly in the middle post of 5, backers of the 1-20 favorite should have no anxious moments.

* Tamarillo caused a mild surprise in the $250,000 UAE Oaks at Nad Al Sheba on Thursday with a 1 1/2-length victory over Festive Style with Menhoubah third, another 8 1/4 lengths behind.
