Showgirl Lynne B finds room on rail in Sharp Susan Stakes

Showgirl Lynne B shot through a narrow rail opening on her way to a one-length victory in the $65,000 Sharp Susan, the highlight of a 12-race Saturday card at Gulfstream in Hallandale Beach, Fla.
Ridden by David Lopez, Showgirl Lynne B returned $5 as the second choice in a field that was reduced to just four 2-year-old fillies after two early scratches, including Gemma’s Curls, the morning-line favorite.
Owned by Westlake Racing Stable, Showgirl Lynne B, a Kentucky-bred by Constitution, finished 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:05.70 over Tapeta.
Le Boiana, who made all the running before being quickly passed in upper stretch by the winner, continued resolutely to hold second, 2 3/4 lengths before Jellybean, the 6-5 favorite. Fast Kimmie rounded it out.
